Hi Gabreal,
Please pass on to Larry. We
all pray for his recovery.
Dear Larry,
This is the first I have heard
from or about you in
many years, although I have
thought about you often.
My thought is always of you
as the true originator of
electronic editing. Long before
there was the Avid, or
the Final Cut or any other system,
there was MIDAS
really before MIDAS there was
you.
I undertand you are ill. I am
very very sorry to learn
that. Also that you are in Southern
China -- this I
did not know.
My message is that you are very
ill, and I am so very
sad to learn that and I hope
a recovery is possible.
I want you to know that, unless
I hear bright news,
and what I am being told is
true -- that your time
(like mine) is entering it's
final act -- I want you
to know how wonderful was the
collaboration I made
with you. And as long as I live,
I will always tell
everyone that it was Larry Seehorn
who was the true
originator, inventor of the
electronic editing system.
I will not let people forget
that.
Hoping I hear something back,
I remain
your friend,
Francis Coppola
