Herbert Bryans 1855-1925.

A Stained glass panel by Herbert William Bryans ca. 1897-98.
Bryans worked for CE Kempe before starting his own business in 1896.

His work is very like Kempe's which is not surprising since many Kempe windows were made by Bryans.

The stained glass window with the book is in perfect, museum quality, unrestored condition, and is the work of Herbert Bryans (1855-1925), a Victorian contemporary of Charles Kempe. (1837-1907)

This is an historically significant panel, due to being an early example, when the artist was most ambitious, after striking out on his own from Kempe, and due to its striking beauty and execution of craft. It is in remarkable condition.

THE PANEL IS 42.5 INCHES WIDE
