Where were you born?
I was born in Moscow.
Where do you live presently?
I live in Moscow.
Please describe your artwork?
My works include various types of art. As for monumental art,
I should mention frescoes of the central dome of the Christ the Savior
Church and also murals at the restaurant of the Russian Academy of Fine
Arts. My easel paintings include landscapes, still lives, portraits,
and different compositions. Applied art works include lacer boxes, brooches
and etc. made in technique similar to Palekh school.
What is your favorite technique?
I easel painting: oil on canvas, mosaics.
In graphics: coal, sepia, black lead pencil.
What are your favorite types of art?
Graphical archaic art works, Renaissance, Protorenaissance, Western
European of 16-17th centuries, Bysantium art, Russian icons and frescoes
of 12-17th centuries.
What event inspired you to become a professional artist and at what
age were you when that event occurred?
I have been drawing and painting since
I was four years old. I decided to become a
professional artist, because painting
is the only thing I can do ceaselessly and
enjoy it very much.
What has been the most lucky thing that has happened in your art carrer?
Studing of Russian and European art history.
Who has been the most influential person in shaping your artwork?
Professor E. Maximov, E. Troshev, I. Lubeynikov, S. Gavrilyachenko,
M. Bugai.
What is your favorite subject for your art?
Still lives with complex composition, thorough depicting of details
and intricate philosophical meaning. Also I like various compositions and
landscapes.
