Forbes editor shot dead in Russia

The Forbes editor in Russia, Paul Klebnikov, 41, was shot dead Friday night 
by unknown attackers, the Washington Post reports.

Klebnikov, a U.S. citizen and senior editor for Forbes who investigated corruption 
in Russia, was shot four times outside his office and died in an ambulance en route 
to a hospital. He had worked for Forbes since 1989, and was the author of 
Godfather of the Kremlin, a biography of Russian tycoon Boris Berezovsky.

Other journalists have also been attacked in Russia, the Post said. 
The Moscow correspondent for the Afghan service of 
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty was stabbed outside his 
apartment last week. 

A colleague from the Turkmen service 
was attacked and beaten at home in April.

Klebnikov's wife and children had stayed behind in 
New York when he moved to Moscow, the Post said.
